A Florida Historic Treasure - Beautiful Venetian Pool
Formed from a coral rock quarry in 1923, Venetian Pool is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
The pool received a major historic restoration in 1989.

Be sure to visit this wonderful WEB site of this historic treasure, I'm sure that it will bring back many memories of pool, Coral Gables and Miami.

Coral Gables Venetian Pool

Crandon Park is one of the top ten beaches in the Nation.
The beach at Crandon Park still has its pristine sand, calm water, winding promenade, concession stands, and the multiple picnic areas with tables and grills. It no longer has the zoo. That was moved in 1972 to South Dade. Crandon's famous offshore sandbar protects swimmers from a crashing surf. The sandbar changes constantly because of seasonal squalls, storms and currents. It is enjoyed by many people who swim to it and walk or wade along its length. They restored the wonderful Carousel and it is still being enjoyed by everyone.

Crandon Park and Other Dade Co Beaches

This is what it looks like today. Visit the WEB site, it has dozens of photos and even video.

It's now called Miami Metro Zoo
It's no longer Crandon Park Zoo. It isn't even located in the same place. Click on the link to the Crandon Park web site and choose "HOME" at the bottom of the page to find the zoo WEB site and get more information.
